Mark my words, we are crossing a threshold into a brave new social order of things. The following is a American ideological timeline of where we came from and an educated guess as to were we are going. First off we started with Good Capitalism, the kinda capitalism that wasn’t overly exploitative and rewarded an individuals effort to succeed. Eventually though we found ourselves rubbing shoulders a little to frequently with the Bernie Madoffs and Enrons of the world and the general public realized we had reached Bad Capitalism. Now, at this point its impossible for the general public to distinguish between the crooked capitalists and the institution itself therefore mob mentality carries the day and we throw the baby out with the bathwater. Our new bath, poured from the enormous world altering stimulus faucet last week by Obama is warm and has fun bubbles in it. This new bath is called Good Socialism (this is also the threshold we are crossing I might add). This is the kind of socialism that seems to make things fair for everyone once again. This won’t last though, and just as warm bath water eventually goes cold we’ll find ourselves in something called Bad Socialism. This is were, as Winston Churchill puts it “all share equally in misery”. To end my timeline I think the next stop from Bad Socialism is popular revolution. Then again, what do I know, I just sit around reading history books…
