Welcome to Heaven…

Posted by Russell On April - 2 - 2010

“Gore, Clinton & Obama in Heaven.”

Al Gore, Bill Clinton and Barrack Obama go to heaven…

God addresses Al first..  ”Al, what do you believe in?”

Al replies: “Well, I believe that I won that election, but that it was your will that I did not serve..And I’ve come to understand that now.”
God thinks for a second and says:  “Very good. Come and sit at my left..”

God then addresses Bill.  ”Bill, what do you believe in?”

Bill replies:  ”I believe in forgiveness.  I’ve sinned, but I’ve never held a grudge against my fellow man, and I hope no grudges are held against me.”
God thinks for a second and says:  “You are forgiven, my son. Come and sit at my right.”

Then God addresses Barrack.  ”Barrack, what do you believe in?”

Barrack replies:  ”I believe you’re in my chair.”

The Drive Thru Can Undo any Sort of Cool

Posted by Benjamin On April - 1 - 2010

It’s true, no matter who you are, you sound like a dork when ordering food at a drive thru. Example, yesterday I was waiting behind a very normal looking person in the drive thru lane, normal that is, until the person started ordering; hells bells it was bad! It was like this loud banal voice asking to hold the pickles or go lite on the ice. Go ahead, listen! You’ll see what I mean. No matter how cool you are, the voice and words that issue forth from your mouth when ordering undoes it all!

The New Wallet before its Time

Posted by Benjamin On January - 14 - 2010

Apparently, the idea of a new wallet winds me up the same way my woman gets wound up over the idea of skinny jeans. God help me if this is truth, because I think it is. Verily, every time I pass a retailer showcasing brown leather billfolds I slow down in order to get an eyeful of that singularly glorious folded cowhide. Reality my friend, reality though, has always kept me at a safe distance. I’ve already got a good, strong, medium brown bi-fold wallet with a magnetic money retainer at its core. Alas, I can smell it, the cod fish like stench of defeat, I’m going to buy another wallet and jettison the current, perfectly suitable version, as you would an old toaster; shame on me for even thinking that…

The Gift that Needs Forgiving

Posted by Tony On December - 15 - 2009

The title of this post is the title of a newspaper article that I read, and I must say that parts of the article made me very sad. Why you may ask? Well the gist of the article is that people sometimes give bad gifts at Christmas. I’m thinking, okay, yeah it happens, some gifts are pretty bad and should have been thought out a bit more. But the article went on to talk about some specific circumstances where women broke up with guys in part because of some bad gift decisions. Maybe, they weren’t bad, but more un-tasteful. Has our culture become so selfish that if a gift isn’t good enough that we’ll breakup or divorce the person that gave us that “bad” gift? If that is the case it is very very sad.

I understand that some people’s love language is receiving and giving gifts, but as it often seems is the case people (read guys) can have a hard time picking something out for their lady (not that women are always better at it). It is a spot that guys can work on, but it is really the thought that counts and if the gift is that bad talk to him/her about it and try to view it from their perspective, or just be happy that you are special enough to someone for them to get/make you a gift…

DC "Sniper"

Posted by Tony On November - 10 - 2009

I’m glad to see the DC “Sniper” on death row, his ruthless killing should be harshly punished. Whats interesting in that article is that death penalty opponents are planning protests because they think that life imprisonment without parole is safe and punishment enough. I disagree; murderers, especially mass murderers like this guy, deserve to die for their crimes, why should he  get to live out the rest of his live when his victims didn’t get that chance? Also why should tax payers pay to feed and house this man for the rest of his life?

Fort Hood

Posted by Tony On November - 10 - 2009

Kudos to Obama for taking the time to meet with each family that was affected by the Fort Hood shooting. Its so easy to criticize politicians, and rightly so in many cases, but it is refreshing to see one taking the time to honor our soldiers.

Medical Student Ninja Gaiden

Posted by Benjamin On September - 15 - 2009

This story of a medical student using a sword to defend himself against an intruder kinda gives new meaning to the bumper sticker I once saw that said “If they outlaw guns, can we use swords?”
